Because so many ear infections are linked to other developing cold or flulike infections, it’s important to execute a hot or cold compress on your ears, sometimes both! Because of this common link, a warm compress will help loosen any congestion while alleviating feelings of discomfort. Soak a washcloth in warm water for this simple execution and place it on any affected area for 10 to 15 minutes each. A cold compress is less comfortable but serves as an alternative method should the hot compress not give you the desired results.
